Halloween Party

Thank you so much to the room parents for helping at our Halloween party. The kids had a lot of fun!

The Witches FINALLY came

Today we found out who the witches were....Mrs. Baete and Mrs. Vogel were playing tricks on us the whole time! They had more fun with us today!We had a lot of fun opening our bags of items from the witches. We had bat wings, bat bones, colored flies, ghost ears and fly eyes.

Pumpkin Fun

Today we had fun with lots of pumpkin activities. Many pumpkins were donated to our class so we became scientists and practiced our observation skills. We also learned about things that sink and float. It was a lot of fun!

Kindergarten Queen Kayla

Kayla was our queen for the day. She was a top 5 Homecoming candidate, but she is OUR QUEEN! We had fun decorating her cape and crown. We also made a book for Kayla that was all about reasons why Kayla is special to us! Thanks Kayla for all of the help you give each one of us! :)

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

We had a lot of fun at the pumpkin patch. The weather was PERFECT! There were lots of fun activities. We had a great time riding the hay rack ride, going down the very looooooong hill slide, going through the haunted houses and riding the bikes. The kids were terrific! Thanks to all of the parents that came along!

**I will try very hard to update this more often. We are learning and doing many fun things in kindergarten.

Fun outside and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Kayla!

Today we had fun outside while we took a break from the learning. I am so excited to hear the kids starting to "read." They are doing an awesome job. They are confident that they are learners and are willing to work hard to learn! :)

Our senior helper's birthday was Monday, but we were not able to celebrate until today. We made fun birthday posters and enjoyed ice cream cake...YUMMY!

Applesauce

Friday we had a lot of fun making and eating applesauce. The kids had a lot of fun peeling the apples. The wait was long...but well worth the yummy applesauce. The kids enjoyed their special treat! :)

Jack Be Nimble

The kindergarten friends had a lot of fun using language and listening to rhymes as we listened to and worked with the rhyme Jack Be Nimble. Enjoy the slide show below as all of the kids are jumping over their candlestick :)

Apples

We will be learning about apples for the couple weeks. We graphed apples, had a taste test, and made apple sauce.

Working With Words

We have been working hard learning about Daily 5. The students are having a lot of fun working with words and letters. Here the students are doing many different things to learn about and manipulate sounds and letters. Every day in kindergarten is a hands on learning environment.

Clifford Fun

We had a lot of fun learning with Clifford the Big Red Dog. We painted Clifford, we made books about him, we have read many stories about him as well. Mrs. Timmerman has been very bad in not taking pictures and is hoping to do better in the coming weeks. Here the boys are measuring how tall or wide their Cliffords are.

NAMES

We had lots of fun with names today. We used our names like puzzles and played with the letters and then glued them back together. We played some name games to help us learn each other's names better. We are also working hard on writing our names the "kindergarten way." :) We talked about the letter N!

GREEN

Green was the color for the day on Thursday. We had fun reading Froggy stories. We all learned how to make a scribble art frog. The best part of the day is when the kindergarten friends sounded out the word frog all by themselves! We are really making the letter sound connection! YEAH!!!!

In Daily 5 news. We started reading with a buddy. Here the kiddos are reading together with our Whipserphones!

YELLOW

We had a lot of fun with YELLOW buses. We sang and acted out the Wheels on the Bus. It was a lot of fun to listen to the different versions. For snack we made yummy yellow buses to eat! We also did a transportation graph to see how we get to school. Most of our friends ride in a car. We also talked about the letter Y. Our high school helper Kayla is reading us a story. We all love when Kayla comes in the afternoon! :)

PURPLE

Today we had lots of fun with the color purple. We read Harold and the Purple Crayon. We drew purple pictures and told stories about them. We also drank Purple Kool-Aid and ate cookies at our Party. Can you guess what letter we learned about today? P!
